Notre-Dame: A Wider World
Series Comes to an End
In September 2024, Archaeology Now launched a multimedia, multidisciplinary series of events focused on the wider world of Notre-Dame de Paris, celebrating the reopening of an iconic landmark familiar to people around the world that was almost destroyed by fire on April 15, 2019.
We were proud to feature the official team of archaeologists, artisans, and scientists who made the cathedral’s restoration possible, as well as scholars who are opening broader understandings of its interconnected world, a medieval world that stretched across the continents and cultures ranging from Africa to Japan, the Silk Route, and the Arabic world.
Archaeology Now presented these events in grateful partnership with the Consulat Général de France à Houston, Villa Albertine, Rebâtir Notre-Dame de Paris, and L’Alliance Française de Houston.

Join us for an exhibit celebrating the artisans and craftspeople who were responsible for the restoration.
