NEW DATE Evergreen Negro Cemetery - Forgotten No More

Join us at Evergreen Negro Cemetery to preserve and protect.

In Collaboration with Project Respect

PLEASE NOTE - Due to recent heavy rains, the cemetery is impassable. We are now gathering on May 16, 2026.

Every monument in Evergreen Negro Cemetery tells the story of the pioneers and visionaries who built our city’s foundation. Today, time and the elements threaten to silence these narratives.

Join us for a hands-on restoration workshop led by expert Alayna Jordon. Participants will explore the ethics of preservation before learning essential skills, including professional cleaning and stone gluing. This session launches our 2026 cemetery preservation workshop series—help us ensure these sacred stories are protected for generations to come.

Following the workshop session, the rest of the day will be spent cleaning headstones.
